The full field revealed today has a cut off of 83 and eight top 50 ranked players, which is well down on some years.
However Budge says with Australian Open champion Caroline Wozniacki, Venus Williams, Victoria Azarenka, defending champion Julia Goerges and now Canadian star Genie Bouchard heading to Auckland, he hasn't had any better.
Karl Budge says injured New Zealand number one Marina Erakovic will be given a wildcard if she requests one.
