A horror 24 hours on Horowhenua roads

This morning has seen two more crashes - after two separate fatal incidents yesterday.

Early this morning, a car transporter truck rolled off the road near the Whirokino Bridge in Foxton.

State Highway One is closed to allow for a vehicle recovery operation.

About an hour ago a car and truck crashed north of Otaki.

Emergency services are at the scene - and there are no reported injuries at this stage.

Yesterday, one person died in a two-car crash at Ohau near Levin, which left three others seriously injured

Another person died after a car and a truck crashed at Manakau.

It's understood Levin police will be issuing a special media release shortly about the unprecedented number of crashes in such a short time.
