The former Rabbitohs mentor has officially been with the club for a day, and reportedly wants to part ways with halfback Kodi Nikorima.

The Brisbane Courier-Mail is reporting the club sounded out the Warriors to see if they wanted the Kiwis playmaker to replace Shaun Johnson.

Warriors coach Stephen Kearney is thought to be a fan, having worked with him during his time as Broncos assistant coach.

Nikorima is contracted with the Broncos until 2020.
