Further meetings for the Canterbury District Health Board CEO - after recent attacks on nurses
6 December 2018
A nurse at Hillmorton Hospital was stabbed in the leg on Sunday, and last week a nurse suffered second degree burns after boiling water was thrown at her.
Canterbury DHB chief executive David Meates is meeting with WorkSafe today ... and a second group of Hillmorton Hospital based nurses tomorrow.
A WorkSafe spokesperson says they sought an urgent meeting with Meates following the recent events.
They'll be advising him that Hillmorton Hospital's risk management isn't at an acceptable level and must be improved immediately.
They say they met with Health and Safety representatives and union reps earlier this year after ongoing issues at Hillmorton... but were turned down a meeting with the CDHB.
