The sun has turned out just in time for tonight's annual Coca-Cola Christmas in the Park

The sun has turned out just in time for tonight's annual Coca-Cola Christmas in the Park

The family friendly event kicks off at 7 o'clock at the Auckland Domain.

Event producer John Searle says one of the things he's looking forward to is a performance of Queen's epic song Bohemian Rhapsody, which will be accompanied by a lot of pyrotechnics.

Searle says after the week of wild weather, it was a big achievement just to have the show ready for tonight.

Kiwi singing sensation Stan Walker will headline the event.
