New Zealand's most successful test pace trio have a chance to get the band back together when the series against Sri Lanka starts on Saturday at the Basin Reserve

New Zealand's most successful test pace trio have a chance to get the band back together when the series against Sri Lanka starts on Saturday at the Basin Reserve

With two rather than three fast bowling spots available in the 2-1 victory over Pakistan in the UAE, Trent Boult, Tim Southee and Neil Wagner didn't get to play together.

The Basin Reserve wicket is traditionally green in December, but New Zealand coach Gary Stead says they had to juggle their options in the desert.

New Zealand will likely use one spinner in Wellington, meaning either Will Somerville or Ajaz Patel will be rested.
