A new political party says Wellingtonians are sick of carparks being slashed for cycleways

A new political party says Wellingtonians are sick of carparks being slashed for cycleways

The Wellington First Party is looking to run a mayoral candidate and local ward candidates in next year's local body elections.

Party founder Bryan Weyburne says proposals for a cycleway connection through the southern suburbs will practically spell the end of Wellington.

But he says what set him off was the Michael Fowler Centre carpark being used to temporarily house the Royal New Zealand Ballet.

Weyburne says is pulling the city back into the Stone Age.
