A ticking clock has been put on the Auckland waterfront stadium proposal

A ticking clock has been put on the Auckland waterfront stadium proposal

The Auckland Waterfront Consortium warns decision makers need to get a move on - or the city could miss out on major events like the Commonwealth Games or Rugby World Cup in 2030 and 2031.

Greater Auckland's Patrick Reynolds says it's a good tactic ... as even when there are great reasons to do something, we need a deadline.

But he says 2030 might be too far off and abstract to get people motivated.
