    The Lakers have beaten the defending champions without their leader


    The Los Angeles side have smashed the Golden State Warriors 127-101 in their NBA Christmas Day match.

    They had to do much of it without LeBron James, who left the court in the third quarter with a groin injury.

    Earlier the Boston Celtics beat the Philadelphia 76ers 121-114 in overtime, off the back of 40 points and 10 rebounds from guard Kyrie Irving.
