2018 may be over, but the road toll for the year has gone up
6 January 2019
Three-hundred and 82 people died in or as a result of accidents on our roads last year.
The number's increased after a 29-year-old man involved in a crash last month died in hospital in Wellington yesterday, and although he died yesterday his death is included in the toll for last year.
He was one of several people injured in the December 20 crash on Whakatu Drive in Stoke, Nelson, just after midnight.
A 25-year-old woman from the West Coast was also killed in the crash.
