It's expected Myrtle Rust will start showing on more plants around the country, thanks to warmer summer temperatures

DOC's Fiona Thomson says they want to track the spread of the fungus.
She's encouraging people to check their myrtle species for it.
Infected plants show typical symptoms including bright yellow powdery spots on the underside of leaves.
She says if people discover Myrtle Rust, they shouldn't touch it, but instead take a photo and call Biosecurity New Zealand's exotic pest and disease hotline.
