    A gang member waved a machete at members of the public during a confrontation in Stokes Valley, near Lower Hutt, this afternoon


    Witnesses reported hearing gun shots after up to 15 gang members gathered outside a property on George Street.

    They were yelling abuse at people inside the house, and one gang member also threatened innocent bystanders in a park.

    One witness very clear about what she saw.




    Armed police are at the scene and searching houses in the area to find those involved.
