    The number of housing consents in Canterbury is continuing to rise.

    The number of housing consents in Canterbury is continuing to rise.


    Figures for November show there were 449 new dwellings consented compared with 422 the same time a year ago, at a value of $157 million.

    The number dropped in Christchurch city to 208 - down from 221 a year ago..

    Waimakariri and Selwyn experienced significant growth with 62 and 98 consented homes, respectively.

    Nationally, the number of new consents was up 5.3 percent - with almost 33,000 homes consented in the year to November.
