A drone sighting near Auckland Airport last night held six aircraft in the sky circling for 20 minutes, before it was safe for them to land

    Auckland Airport
Auckland Airport says there was a confirmed sighting of a drone around 7pm, a strangely high 12-thousand feet.

A passenger flying from Taupo to Auckland, Sean Willmot, says it was a short disturbance but the airline and pilot were very professional and even gave them lollies for waiting.

He says there were a few mutterings condemning the idiot.
