An international cancer expert is calling for low-risk cancers to be called something less scary.
Writing in the British Medical Journal. Californian Researcher Laura Esserman has proposed a name change for thyroid, prostate and breast cancer.
She says modern screening programmes have led to over-detection of cancer.
Chair of the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation, Dr Reena Ramsaroop, argues there should be more focus on educating patients.
She says renaming illnesses shouldn't be a solution.
