Two more fruit flies have been discovered - a Queensland fruit fly in Northcote and a Tongan facialis fruit fly in Otara.
That's seven fruit flies found across the city in under a month.
Fruit Fly Council chairperson Stu Hutchings says the traps don't catch female fruit flies.
And that's why so much fruit in the control zones is examined.
Hutchings says the best way of locating a female is finding larvae from eggs they've laid in fruit, from within the controlled areas.
