    An Auckland man has been sentenced to six years jail for raping a woman more than 20 years ago


    Dennis Kalepo was finally caught using DNA.

    When police investigated the case in 1998 no DNA match was made, but the file remained active - and in 2017 officers were notified of a match.

    Detective Inspector Scott Beard hopes this case sends a message.

    He says police will assess and review any new information to hold offenders to account, no matter how old the case.
