It reveals two-thirds of GPs have fielded requests for the products over the past year.
The country's biggest licensed medicinal cannabis company, Helius Therapeutics, conducted the research which involved almost 11-hundred medical professionals.
Executive director, Paul Manning, says it shows support from GPs to use the medicine - if it's right for the patient.
He says 89-percent say they'd prescribe the cannabis for one or more of 20 medical conditions, if they had enough information.
