Health research studies to manage a flu pandemic in the UK could be adapted here

Victoria University Professor Colin Simpson is a part of the research network and says it holds valuable lessons on dealing with Influenza.

The studies are currently on standby until a pandemic is declared.

They cover key care and public health aspects of an influenza outbreak including surveillance, vaccination and clinical management.

Simpson says New Zealand's health system is very similar to the UK's and could easily replicate the network.
