Amsterdam will ban all diesel and petrol-powered vehicles by 2030
4 May 2019
From next year, the Dutch city will begin phasing out all forms of vehicles that emit exhaust fumes, beginning with a ban on all cars 25 years or older.
Buses, mopeds and water crafts will also be weeded out under the new plans, which will see the city become emissions-free.
The city will need 23,000 charging stations by 2025 in order to meet the new demand for electric vehicles - 20,000 more than it currently has.
