Joshua's lost the IBF, WBA, IBA and WBO world heavyweight belts to Mexican-American Andy Ruiz Junior - who Parker beat in 2016 to claim the then vacant WBO belt.
Parker had a tough run last year, losing to both Joshua and Dillian White, but will next face American Eric Molina later this month.
Boxing commentator Mike Angove says with Parker now fighting under Eddie Hearn, he has the opportunity to build his way back to a title.
He says it's interesting times for both the division and Parker, but he needs some stellar performances in his next fights before he can think about the big game again.
