Latest figures from MPI show that 129 out of 171 farms that were infected have been cleared, and can be repopulated.
It's cost 156-million dollars to cull more than 100-thousand cattle.
Forty three farms are still actively infected.
Massey University veterinary science expert Richard Laven says we're on track, but it will take years to be clear of the disease.
He says the difficulty is proving you're free of Mycoplasma bovis because all the tests are to show you have it, not that you don't have it.
Laven adds there are still some issues with stock movement.
