The Tall Blacks will head to the Basketball World Cup without Steven Adams

The Tall Blacks will head to the Basketball World Cup without Steven Adams

Basketball New Zealand has announced the NBA centre has decided not to don the black singlet in 2019.

Adams' agent has sent BBNZ a statement saying he does intend to play for the program at some point.

The battle to win golf's US Open looks to be between three players on the back nine at Pebble Beach.

Third round leader American Gary Woodland has a one shot lead over two times defending champion Brooks Koepka with England's Justin Rose two shots off the pace.

Woodland is 11 under par, even for the day through 12 holes.

Koepka is three under for his round through 13 holes, while Rose is one over after 12.

Former Socceroos defender Luke DeVere is the 11th player to be contracted to the Wellington Phoenix for next season.

DeVere joins the Phoenix from the Brisbane Roar, where he played 110 A-League games across two stints.

He says new coach Ufuk Talay sold him on his vision for the club.
