A train service that takes commuters from Palmerston North to Wellington is in trouble

A train service that takes commuters from Palmerston North to Wellington is in trouble

The Capital Connection has been running for almost 30 years.

In its time it's faced several issues around funding but has managed to stay afloat.

Now money has become an issue once again.

Policy Advisor Cynthia Ward presented the issue to Wellington's Regional Transport Committee.

She says if something isn't done before 2021, the service will cease to exist.

She says councils need to work together to advocate for more funding.
