Concerns are mounting about the blunt assessment given to patients being screened for bowel cancer

Three doctors have published a letter in the Medical Journal, calling for patients to get more information about their screenings than a simple positive or negative result.
Bowel Cancer New Zealand spokesperson Mary Bradley says she supports the call.
She says a negative result just means a patient isn't at the threshold to be referred on to a specialist - not that they have no risk of bowel cancer.
