A big police operation is still underway in Napier, with a man with a gun reportedly in a property at Alexander Avenue

Police are saying little about the operation, but were called to the property this afternoon and four schools were put into lockdown for a couple of hours.

Cordons remain in place and residents who can't return home are gathering at the Kings House Church on Riverbend Road.
