    A 200-thousand-dollar injection into tourism for Te Apiti-Manawatu Gorge


    The Provincial Growth Fund is investing half of that in a virtual reality tourist trail between Woodville and Ashhurst, to showcase Maori culture.

    The Central Economic Development Agency gets the rest for evaluating new ventures relating to eco-tourism, culture, education, and on-water activities.

    Regional Economic Development Under-Secretary Fletcher Tabuteau says it will help revitalise towns like Woodville, which have been badly affected by slips closing the Gorge.
