People with significant obesity are much slower in their recovery and rehabilitation in hospital

People with significant obesity are much slower in their recovery and rehabilitation in hospital

A Radio New Zealand report says four severely overweight patients are stuck in Middlemore Hospital - with nowhere suitable to go.

Otago University deputy medicine department head Jeremy Krebs says they need specialist mobility equipment.

He says if they go home, they could have a fall or their caregivers at home won't to be able to manage because of their size.
