Christchurch mosque shooting video teen returned to custody after allegedly breaching bail

The youngest person charged over the Christchurch mosque shooting video has been returned to custody after allegedly breaching bail conditions

The 16-year-old - who can't be named for legal reasons - first appeared in the Youth Court in Christchurch in March.

He was initially charged with distributing objectionable material and was held in custody for two months - but last week pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of possessing a video of the attack.

The teen was released on bail last month with strict conditions.

Today he appeared before the Youth Court on a new charge of breaching his bail conditions.

His lawyer Moana Cole says there'd been a death in the family and the teen had been using marijuana.
