Research and development start-ups are getting better Government backing

Research and development start-ups are getting better Government backing

Research, Science and Innovation Minister Megan Woods says pre-profit businesses will be eligible for more funding under the R&D Tax Incentive scheme.

Woods says they want to make sure financial support reaches more businesses investing in new ideas.

She says to diversify and grow our economy we need new ways of looking at the world and R&D does exactly that.

The Government's set a target of raising our R&D spend to two percent of GDP over the next decade.
