Emma Twigg admits she's surprised at how seamlessly she's returned to the water

In her first international season since 2016, the kiwi single sculls rower has been in scintillating form, winning both World Cup meets and the Henley royal regatta.

Twigg didn't expect things to go as smoothly as they have for her.

She says it's a great feeling to come back after two years and be standing on the top of the podium again and she hopes to take another step up and be on top at the World Champs.

Emma Twigg will have a brief break, before ramping up training in preparation for the world champs in Austria late next month.
