New Zealand golfer Ryan Fox has achieved a life long dream at the British Open overnight

New Zealand golfer Ryan Fox has achieved a life long dream at the British Open overnight

He's played a practice round with Tiger Woods, well one hole to be precise.

Fox and a couple of Australians were due to tee off for 18 holes at 7-50 am local time when they bumped into Tiger who wanted to play the first before playing the back nine.

Fox says he chatted to Tiger while playing the first and then he went and played the back nine.

Australian coach Lisa Alexander's been watching the Silver Ferns like a hawk this week ahead of the business end of netball's World Cup in Liverpool.

Both sides have claimed five comfortable wins so far and will square off tomorrow night to sort out semi-final seedings.

Alexander says she's been paying close attention.

After three weeks of waiting, Nathaniel Roache is ready to go under the knife.

The Warriors hooker will have surgery on Friday after suffering an NRL season-ending ACL injury during the round 15 loss to the Panthers.

Roache says he had to let the swelling go down, as the bone bruising was of immediate concern.
