Leonardo DiCaprio's girlfriend Camila Morrone has fired back at her critics after they blasted the age gap between the pair

The 'Once Upon A Time in Hollywood' star and his girlfriend are 22 years apart and the latter was inundated with trolls after she posted a picture of Hollywood legends, Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall, who have a 25-year age gap, on her social media

Captioning the old photo, she wrote: "A love like this."

The comments were full of critics who slammed her relationship with Leonardo, leading Camila to urge others to stop commenting on things they know nothing about and to "live with a little less hatred".

She said: "Good morning people. I just read some of the comments on my Instagram and my God, people are so mean and full of anger with people that they know nothing about. I guess I just hope on this Friday that people learn to live with a little less hatred and place their time and interests elsewhere, because living without hatred feels pretty good."

Leonardo is said to be "very serious" about his relationship with Camila.

A source said of the 44-year-old actor - who has dated various stars over the years, including Gisele Bundchen and Bar Refaeli: "He's more mature and thinking longer term. He is very serious with Cami and has been for a while now, but marriage is not something that is on the horizon. He's happy with where things are and is committed to her. He's not thinking too far beyond that."

And Leonardo previously admitted that in spite of being one of the movie industry's most bankable stars, he still feels like an outsider in Hollywood.

He explained: "I think I will always feel like an outsider. Marty [Scorsese] was the same. He came from the streets of New York and didn't feel like he belonged in Hollywood. I can remember getting rejected systematically by casting directors as a young kid. I felt like the biggest outsider there ever was; that I'd never belong in that club. I had this idea that one day they reach out, bless you and say: 'You are now part of this elite, you are the chosen one.'"
