Kiwi sailors Peter Burling and Blair Tuke have had a successful opening day at the Olympic test sailing event in Enoshima

The defending Olympic champions managed two wins and a third to establish themselves atop the 49er leaderboard.

Tuke says while tougher than expected, it was a great start for them.

Kiwi Sam Meech has also enjoyed a great opening day with a first and second to sit top of the Laser fleet.
