    A climber is in stable condition... after being caught in an avalanche on Aoraki/Mount Cook

    A climber is in stable condition... after being caught in an avalanche on Aoraki/Mount Cook


    Police received a call before midday that a person had been injured in the slip, before flying them to the Search and Rescue base.

    An ambulance spokesperson says the climber was then taken to Christchurch Hospital with moderate injuries.

    Christchurch Hospital has confirmed the climber is in a stable condition.
