A free mental healthcare package is hoped to reach a hundred and seventy thousand New Zealanders

A free mental healthcare package is hoped to reach a hundred and seventy thousand New Zealanders

The Government has just announced six million dollars for existing but unfunded mental health services at 22 GPs and a kaupapa Maori provider across seven DHBs.

And the Ministry of Health will soon start accepting applications for new free front line mental health services worth a further 30 million dollars.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern says it's hoped the funding will allow anyone in distress to easily access free support.
