Lowering tariffs for UK exporters will be on the wish list in their post-Brexit trade talks

Lowering tariffs for UK exporters will be on the wish list in their post-Brexit trade talks

Chief political reporter Alex Mason says the UK's International Trade Secretary is getting ahead of the curve with talks in Wellington, Australia and Japan this week.

Liz Truss says there is massive political willingness from her country's trading partners to negotiate ambitious agreements, that will benefit people throughout the UK.

Some UK exporters face barriers in the New Zealand market - including automotive and machinery sector tariffs between five-and-10 percent.

Truss will meet our Trade Minister, Deputy Prime Minister, and Opposition leader.
