A spectacular opening ceremony has welcomed in rugby World Cup 2019 in Japan

Tokyo Stadium has been engulfed in colour, song and dance to signify the beginning of the first World Cup on Asian soil.
After the World Cup theme song World in Union was belted out around the arena, the theatrics culminated in double World Cup winning former All Blacks captain Richie McCaw holding aloft the Webb Ellis trophy for the final time.
And with a final word from World Rugby Chairman Bill Beaumont, it was time for the rugby to take centre stage.
