A season of what ifs for Scott Dixon after failing to retain the IndyCar title

A season of what ifs for Scott Dixon after failing to retain the IndyCar title

The Chip Ganassi driver has finished third in the season finale in California to finish fourth in the championship, 63 points adrift of winner Josef Newgarden.

Dixon says to come so close gives him hope for next season because he failed to finish two of the last three races.

Former All Blacks doctor John Mayhew's been left perplexed by Sam Cane's head injury assessment in New Zealand's rugby World Cup opener.

Cane wasn't allowed to return to the field in the win over South Africa.

He passed the concussion test, but was deemed to have exceeded the time limit around the HIA protocol.

Team World captain John McEnroe is unsure how his side's failed to win tennis' Laver Cup.

Roger Federer and Alexander Zverev have won the final two matches to secure Team Europe's 13-11 victory in Geneva.

McEnroe says they came so close and if they don't win next year in Boston then he's toast.
