After a warm weekend - the Deep South is in for another cold snap
24 September 2019
Metservice says a front from the Southern Ocean will soon be rolling up the country - bringing icy cold winds.
Otago and Southland are expected to get the worst of the wild weather.
Winds could become severe in Coastal Otago today - and tomorrow could see temperatures fall to nine degrees in Dunedin and eight in Invercargill.
Snow is expected down to 300 metres from Wednesday - and may affect some of the higher roads and passes.
The worst of the weather is expected to clear up before next weekend.
