Tom Walsh expects the nerves to creep in as he embarks on a second consecutive world title

Tom Walsh expects the nerves to creep in as he embarks on a second consecutive world title

The Kiwi shotputter breezed through the qualifiers at the athletics World Championships with a throw of 21.92 metres, more than a metre over the required mark.

Walsh says going into the qualifiers he was calm, but for tomorrow morning's final, it will be a different story.

Walsh will be joined by compatriot Jacko Gill in the final from 5:05am.

Camille Buscomb has the 5000 metres final at 6:25am.
