Findings from a new water survey are difficult to swallow

Findings from a new water survey are difficult to swallow

The Institute of Environmental Science and Research has found low levels of organic contaminants in nearly two-thirds of their samples.

They include trace elements of medications such as ibuprofen, voltaren and the chemicals found in sunscreen

ESR Principal Scientist, Murray Close, says you would need to drink two-hundred Olympic-sized swimming pools to consume the equivalent of one paracetamol tablet.

The Groundwater Pesticides Survey is held every four years and aims to monitor the quality of water used for drinking water in some rural households
