Australian captain Caitlin Bassett has dismissed claims the umpires were to blame for their one goal loss to the Silver Ferns

Australian captain Caitlin Bassett has dismissed claims the umpires were to blame for their one goal loss to the Silver Ferns

It comes after complaints from fans over calls made in favour of New Zealand in the final quarter of the Constellation Cup opener.

The Australians blew a five goal lead in that final stanza.

But Bassett says the umpires had nothing to do with it.

Game two is in Auckland on Wednesday.
