A third straight appearance looms at the ATP Finals looms for top New Zealand tennis doubles player Michael Venus

The world number 14 and South African partner Raven Klaasen are fourth in the race to qualify among the eight strong field for London.

They have this week's ATP 500 tournament in Basel and next week's Paris Masters to try and book their spot.

Venus says it would be a great achievement to play at the 02 Arena again.

Venus and Klaasen play their first round match in Basel overnight.
