Jetstar confirmed last month it will cease five regional services in New Zealand at the end of November.
Air New Zealand is picking up the slack and putting on an additional 253 flights in December.
This includes services between Auckland and Napier, New Plymouth, Nelson and Palmerston North and Nelson and Wellington.
NZ Herald aviation writer, Grant Bradley, says Air New Zealand's promised Jetstar passengers won't be paying more than 50 dollars for their fare - but that might not last.
He says this time next year it could be a lot more expensive.
