Auckland police say they're extremely disappointed by reports of fireworks near residential buildings

Locals have reported seeing people letting off fireworks near Queen Street in the central city last night.

Police say they received complaints, but were busy with serious incidents nearby.

A spokesperson says people need to be mindful of the serious consequences of misbehaving with fireworks - for themselves and others.
