Phil Mickelson has slipped outside the world's top 50 golfers for the first time in almost 26 years - or 1,353 weeks to be more precise

The news has come after his tie for 28th at the HSBC Champions event.

Mickelson first cracked the top 50 on November 23, 1993, yet never reached number one due the reign of Tiger Woods and dips in the interim.

The current longest streak is Rory McIlroy, who is completing his 11th year.
