The Mountain Safety Council says people need to understand the Grand Traverse isn't a hike

The Mountain Safety Council says people need to understand the Grand Traverse isn't a hike

Two climbers died yesterday climbing The Remarkables route, near Queenstown.

The two were roped together and fell from a steep mountain range.

CEO Mike Daisley says the walk's more difficult than is generally reported.

He says the traverse is for fully competent climbers - and it's not just a day walk.
