    Jonny Bairstow could be about to get a test match reprieve


    Dropped after a disappointing Ashes series for the two test series against New Zealand, the top order batsman has been called into the test squad as cover for the injured Joe Denly.

    Bairstow was due to fly home after the Twenty20 series finishes this weekend but will stay on with the test squad as Denly recovers from an ankle injury.

    Denly is out of the protective moon boot he wore after rolling his ankle in practice before the first Twenty20 in Christchurch.
