Wellington cyclists and pedestrians will now have a safer journey along Hutt Road in Kaiwharawhara

Wellington cyclists and pedestrians will now have a safer journey along Hutt Road in Kaiwharawhara

The new Kaiwharawhara Stream bridge has officially opened this morning, which includes a separated path for cycling and pedestrians.

The 6.8-million dollar Hutt Road project has also seen informal parking along the footpath removed.

Associate Transport Minister Julie Anne Genter says the new bike and walking paths will form part of the new shared path between Ngauranga and Petone.
